Forsythe, Gill and Cisney Win Path Valley Karting Upsets

Spring Run, PA_ Geoff Gill of Duncannon beat Brian Walker by inches in the Zero Ice Sr. Champs caged karts in Burris Tires racing Saturday at the Path Valley Speedway Park, upsetting frequent winner Pete Neuder of Chambersburg who had won every week.

Then in the Jr. Stock feature Dylan Cisney of Blairs Mills, in his first race as he moved up a class from Jr. Restricted II, upset points leader Charlie Walters Jr. of Hollidaysburg R.D. With two laps to go Cisney went to the inside down the backstretch and got into turn three inside and just ahead of Walters. Walters caught Cisney on the final lap from the outside on turn four but, as the two rubbed, Walters spun to the outside wall while Cisney picked up his big win. Walters had earlier won the Imler's Poultry Jr. Restricted feature.

In the T&T Racing Kid's Karts, a much less competitive class, newcomer Ryan Forsythe won in his first race, followed in the front five by Richard Edwards, points leader Daulton Bigler, Amber Potts and Gavyn Deiter.

Geremey Sheaffer was the only double winner among the afternoon's 16 features, with wins in the Lites and Mediums, while his brother Derek continued his own domination of the Jr. Sportsman I class. In the four-wheelers, Craig Robinson and Dane Delancey split the features, but Delancey went on to win all three of that night's AMA Region Six points races.

As Path Valley karting reaches the mid-season, races continue every Saturday with gates open at 10 a.m. and warm-ups at noon. The regular race for karts and four-wheelers on June 26 includes a candy scramble for the kids, a popular free-for-all with a younger class for toddlers. Weekly kart racing at Path Valley is sanctioned under the Burris National Speedway Series (BNSS) and Path Valley is a Burris SpecTrak.

The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown.
