SKUSA MOUNTAIN REGION CANCELS ROUND 3 AT GRAND JUNCTION MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Series and facility elects not to continue on following the death of Colorado karter Taybor Duncan

DENVER, CO (August 19, 2010) - In light of the tragedy that transpired at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway facility last weekend, where Colorado karter Taybor Duncan passed away following an incident on Sunday, August 15, the Superkarts! USA Mountain Region family and the staff at GJMS have decided to cancel the event scheduled for August 21-22. After an abundant number of discussions in the past four days, the SKUSA MR staff - along with the Cook family of the Grand Junction circuit - decided not to contest the two-day event.

"We had numerous calls, conversations and advice regarding the current situation in front of us. Thus, out of respect for the family, the track ownership, we have collectively decided not to race this weekend," stated SKUSA Mountain Region race director Curt Kistler. "We apologize for the late notice to those coming in from out of state and out of town, but we feel this is the best thing to do at this time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Duncan family, as well as the rest of the Colorado karting community, from the entire SKUSA Mountain Region staff and competitors."

News regarding the remainder of the 2010 SKUSA Mountain Region will be released at a later date. For more information, please visit the series website www.skusamr.com
