On the next to the last racing weekend of the 2002 Season Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, managed another Feature win in the Micro Sprint 270cc Regular Division. Second to Womer was Chad Thomas, New Berlin, who had a great year in Sportsman Micro Sprint competition. Third in line was Eric Heydenreich, Bloomsburg, followed by Larry Sauers, Allenwood, and Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove. The top ten were rounded out by Jesse Hartman, Ray Peters, Shickshinny, Shane Penny, Nescopeck, Brayden Winters, Easton, and Jake Starr, Millville.
In Rookie action, the small field was dominated by Nunzi Allegrucci, Jermyn, who claimed his first Feature win of the Season. In the second spot was Tim Suydam, Lebanon, while Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY, was third. Deb Arner, Berwick, came in fourth while Caesar Bordo, Scranton, was fifth and finally Jack Longo, Hazelton, was sixth.
The Slingshots came to The Greenwood Valley Action Track in full force on Saturday night. Ryan Smith came home with the Feature victory while Roger Collins was second and Brent Smith was third.
One more Saturday night of racing action remains for the 2002 Season, then the racers and fans will start the preparations for next year. The Greenwood Valley Action Track Drivers' Appreciation Banquet will be held on November 15 at the Jersey Town Community Hall and every racing fan is invited.
