It was rainy most of Saturday until the racing got underway at The Greenwood Valley Action Track and then the weather cleared allowing all of the scheduled to take place. It was A. J. Walters Trucking night for the kids. The youngsters in the Junior Karts, Rookie Karts and the Kid Karts all received trophies presented by A. J. Walters.
In Micro Sprint 270cc action, Jeff Furlong, Selinsgrove, started on the pole and held the spot to the checkered flag, fending off charges by Ross Perchak, Hazelton, who finished in second. Sean "Hollywood" Good, Middleburg, was third, Brayden Winters, Easton, was fourth and Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, was fifth. Ray Peters, Shickshinny, was sixth while Skeetz Hockenbrock, Paxinos, was seventh and rounding out the top ten were Jason Rice, New Tripoli, Jason Kemp, Bloomsburg; and Todd Hoover, Mt. Pleasant Mills.
There was a small starting field of cars for the Sportsman 250cc Micro Sprints Feature and Chad Thomas, New Berlin, was the man to beat. Brian Kishbaugh was unsuccessful challenging the leader and settled for second place. Finishing third was Jim Reese, Bloomsburg, fourth was Jake Starr, Millville, and in the fifth and final spot was Caesar Bordo, Scranton.
Dusty Jagger took the Feature in the Rookie Micro Sprint Division. The Port Crane, NY, native lead the event from the pole, followed across the line by Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg, and Tim Buckwalter, Douglassville. In the fourth position was Jake Starr followed by Joel Thomas, Bloomsburg and Terry Schane, Hamlin. Seventh place through tenth were Jared Schall, Hackettstown, NJ; Deb Arner, Berwick; Dave Mooers, and Caesar Bordo.
Next Saturday evening plan to visit The Greenwood Valley Action Track, located 3 1/2 miles east of Millville just south of route 254. The gates open at 3 and warm-ups at 4:30 so plan to bring the family and enjoy the finest dirt track racing in the area. See you at The Action Track.
