A week spent by Gerry Creveling laying a new clay racing surface on the one fifth mile oval at The Greenwood Valley Action Track was just what Neil "The Wheel" Petock needed to notch his second 270cc Micro Sprint Feature win of the 2001 Season. Petock started from the pole for the Feature and stayed up front for the 25 racing laps to earn the checkered flag. Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, could not reel-in the Petock machine, but held on to second place for the entire event. Steve Lenig, Selinsgrove, followed Womer. In the fourth position it was Jeff Furlong, also comes from Selinsgrove, and Joe Bednarski, Plymouth, was fifth. Blane Heimbach, another Selinsgrove resident, placed sixth, followed by Brian Kishbaugh in seventh. Eighth place went to Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove, ninth was Joey Finan, Milton, and David Utt, Catawissa, was tenth.

Also finding the newly applied surface to his liking, in the Sportsman Micro Sprint Feature, Shane Penny, Nescopeck, brought his 1¢ cent machine to his second win of the season. Rich Mitchell, Mortonsville, came in second in his first visit to The Action Track this season. Finishing third was Rick Morris, Catawissa, followed by Bill Puterbaugh, Millville, in fourth. Taking fifth place was Rob Pajauis, Asbury, NJ., in sixth Kevin Faus, Orangeville, and Kyle Rhoads, Sunbury, claimed seventh.

Sean Good, Middleburg, was the Feature winner in the Rookie Micro Sprint action. This was Good's second win of the season, and few people enjoy the winner's circle more than Sean. In the second slot was Todd Hoover, Selinsgrove, followed by Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY., in third and Kyle Fullweiler in fourth. Finishing fifth was Joe Hogan, Plymouth, sixth was Jeff Mann, Rockaway, NJ., and seventh was Greg Spangler, Wapwallopen. Rounding out the field were Tom Michaelesko in eighth and Deb Arner, Berwick, ninth. Though a full complement of 24 cars started in the rookie feature, attrition claimed all but the nine cars which managed to take the checkered flag.

Join the dirt track contingent for another evening side-sliding fun next Saturday night at The Greenwood Valley Action Track, located 3 1/2 miles east of Millville just south of route 254 (turn right at the Friends School). See you at The Action Track. <pre> June 2, 2001 RESULTS
