Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, stepped into the East Coast Motor Sports Number 17 for the first time and came home a winner in a nearly trouble free Micro Sprint 270cc Feature at The Greenwood Valley Action Track. There was only one caution flag for the event and lapped traffic could have played a big part in the outcome, but Womer dodged the slow cars and beat Eric Heydenreich, Bloomsburg, across the line by a few car lengths. In the third spot was Sean "Hollywood" Good, Middleburg, in fourth was Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, and in the fifth place was Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg. Sixth was Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg, while seventh through tenth were Phil Weinsteiger, Green Lane, Jason Kemp, Bloomsburg, Ray Peters, Shickshinny, and Shannon Stahl, Middleburg.

Winning his twelfth Sportsman Micro Sprint 250cc Feature in the 2002 Season was Chad Thomas, New Berlin, who finished with Chop Slusser, Bloomsburg, right on his rear bumper. In the third spot was Henry Schlegal, Oley, fourth was Rick Morris, Catawissa, and in fifth spot was Jim Reese, Bloomsburg. Rounding out the small field was Ralph Ferraro, North Plainfield, NJ, and Dean Wagner.

The Rookie Micro Sprint field graduated another regular as Bryan Terwilliger, Addison, NY, won his fourth feature event and is required to move into one of the senior divisions. Terry Schane, Hamlin, was second and Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY, was third. In the fourth spot was Tim Buckwalter, Douglassville, fifth place went to Matt Bower, Selinsgrove, and sixth to Nunzi Allegrucci, Jermyn. The rest of the top ten were Kevin Hayle, Bloomsburg, Deb Arner, Berwick, Tammy Schane, Hamlin, and Kyle Jones.

There are two more points races at The Greenwood Valley Action Track, so the racing is intense for the month of September, but the season continues through October every Saturday night with Kart and Micro events.

There will be the second Figure 8 race coming up on the first Friday night following the Bloomsburg Fair. Plan to join us either as a driver or a spectator for this enjoyable smash and crash spectacle. See you this coming Saturday night at The Action Track located 3 1/2 miles east of Millville just south of route 254 for some of the greatest oval dirt track racing that you will find anywhere.
