"Strong outing for Texan pilot in Ocala"

Hamilton, Ontario -- March 21, 2008 -- The Cameron Motorsports (CMI) elite karting team and Cody Jolly had an excellent outing this past weekend at the final round of the Formula Kart Production's Florida Winter Tour. Jolly, who moved full time to the shifter ranks, came home with two very strong runs and podium results at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida.

Looking to start the weekend off right, Jolly was fast during Friday's practice sessions and was looking to turn that speed into a strong run in qualifying on Saturday morning. Teamed with Cameron Motorsports Trevor Wickens, Jolly circuited the Ocala Gran Prix (OGP) facility with the third quickest time that would see him line up just inside row two. The pre-final would see a follow the leader format as Jolly would remain in the third position.

Looking to attack early in the final, the CMI driver moved forward into P2 early and began to press for the lead. Turning the third quickest lap time of the event, the talented Texan finished on the second step of the podium in between the two championship contenders.

Sunday would prove to be a little different for the Intercontinental C (ICC) rookie as he managed to qualify his Maxter powered CRG on the front row. Looking to get the jump early and challenge for the lead, Jolly was forced to settle for P2 as they entered the first corner. The second position would be all that the Texan could garner on this weekend as he eventually finished the pre-final and final in the runner's up spot as the CRG manufacturer managed to sweep Sunday's podium.

"Cody did a great job this weekend," stated CMI's Trevor Wickens. "He is really coming into his own. He should be a force at the national level this season in Stars."

With the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series national championship set to begin in two weeks, Jolly hopes to continue the momentum into that series and a shot at the divisional and national championships. Jolly will also travel overseas this season as the senior level pilot will compete in several International races throughout Europe.
