Thirty teams to join campaign this weekend.
Dubai Autodrome will be buzzing with runners and race drivers this weekend with the Kartdrome hosting the traditional year end 24 hours karting race - the final round of the 2014 Endurance Championship driven by Mini - which will be flagged off at 12:00 noon on Friday, while across the boulevard on Saturday morning over 12,000 participants will take part in the second edition of The Color Run.
The final round of the Endurance Championship is always the flagship event of the series at the Kartdrome, with numerous international teams making the journey to take on the UAE's best leisure karting teams.
This year there is an almighty battle for title honours between Batelco and reigning champions CG Racing which adds spice to the race, with CG Racing also harbouring title ambitions in the Corporate Category and the Nations Cup.
But the nature of the final round of the series is such that a dozen teams - of thirty which have entered - are in with a chance of upsetting the form book, and this year there are teams who will line up on the grid capable of pulling off a surprise result. Thus an intriguing contest is on the cards.
Competitors will be flagged off - Le Mans start style on Friday - and 24 hours later, at 12:00 noon on Saturday the chequered flag will wave to bring proceedings to an end. This will be followed by the podium presentations for the race and also the championship prize-giving.
The Color Run, which has been sold out for some weeks, has attracted over 12,000 participants who will descend on the Autodrome for 'the world's happiest fun run' on Saturday. Gates will open from 07.15 am, with the start chute set to open at 08.30 am and close at 09.30 am.
Organisers have warned, "If you've taken part in The Color Run before, you'll already know the fun we've got in store for you. Don't be late - arrive early if you want to make the most of the color fun!"
