TAYLOR MIINCH TO CONTEST IN CKI FLORIDA CUP
"Miinch looks to continue momentum from 2009"
January 26, 2010 -- After moving to the senior ranks for the last few races of 2009, Californian pilot Taylor Miinch secured great success at in World Karting Association (WKA) and Superkarts USA (SKUSA) competition and will look to carry on his winning ways in 2010. Travelling across the country to Homestead, Florida, the Top Kart pilot and '09 TaG Junior National champion will do battle in both the Leopard Senior and Rotax Senior divisions at the Championship Karting International Florida Cup presented by Supertune USA and DeFrancesco Racing.
Looking to take the inaugural event victories in both classes, Miinch will contest wheel-to-wheel with some of North America's best pilots. With an international presence on the registration list, Miinch may have to overcome some of the top pilots in the world in hopes of Florida Cup glory.
"The 2009 racing season was a great one for me and I am excited for 2010," expressed Miinch from his home in California. "I have been out of the kart for a while but am still on a high from winning the SuperNationals. I am confident that I will be up to speed early and be able to fight for the race win."
With a series that is giving away more then $130,000 in cash and prizes including a new Mazda 3 to the Rotax Senior champion, Miinch will work with P1 Engines, his tuner Cory Pollock and his Top Kart race team to be at the front of the pack.
The junior national champion continued, "We refocused our racing program for 2010 and are going to compete in the CKI Florida Cup, WSK North American Series and Rotax events when we can fit them in. The quantity of races will decrease but we look to race with the best quality of teams and drivers. We will likely fill in some off weekends at the WKA Manufacturers Cup and IKF series to complete required testing during racing situations."
The first annual Championship Karting International Florida Cup presented by Supertune USA and DeFrancesco Racing takes place this coming weekend in Southern Florida. Racing at the Homestead Karting Complex on the grounds of the Homestead Miami Speedway, Miinch will utilize his experience and success at the facility to battle for the win.
