WINS AND PODIUMS FOR P1 ENGINES
"From Florida to California, P1 Engines continues to impress"

March 3, 2010 -- With events taking place on both coasts of the United States, P1 Engines powered drivers were able to score wins and podiums at both the Championship Karting International Florida Cup in Homestead, Florida and the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas at the California Speedway in Fontana, California. Known for their 100cc power, P1 Engines has found recent success in the Rotax categories as they look to establish themselves in that market.

Utilizing P1 Engines at the CKI Florida Cup was Californian driver Taylor Miinch. Competing in two different classes, Miinch would score Saturday's main event victory in the Rotax Senior class against a host of talented drivers. Miinch would show the same speed on Sunday as he managed to qualify his P1 powered Top Kart in the second position but a mid race incident took him out of contention for the win.

Miinch would also do battle in the CKI TaG Senior class where he would score two podium results. Competing against a variety of different chassis and motor combinations, Miinch would come home second on Saturday before sweeping Sunday's action by taking the pole position, heat race win and main event victory. Miinch currently leads the overall point standings and will look to wrap up the championship at the final round in two weeks time.

"Our engine program picked up a lot of momentum throughout the 2009 racing season," expressed P1 Engines Owner and President Jesus Vasquez. "At the end of last season, I made the decision to enter the Rotax market and we have had nothing but success. My bread and butter are the Yamaha and HPV stuff but we are starting to get the hang of this Rotax package and think that by the end of the season, we will have one of the strongest packages on the market."

Across the country at the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas event, Canadian driver Parker Thompson continues to gain momentum in the 2010 season. Thompson would sweep Saturday's racing action in the Rotax Minimax class and would look to be in contention for the win on Sunday until a last lap incident took him out of the race.

Californian driver Zane Smith would make his first career Rotax start as he would race alongside Minimax standout Parker Thompson. Struggling slightly in Saturday's rain action, Smith would claim a twelfth place finish. Sunday's dry racing action would prove to be better for Smith as a solid qualifying effort garnered him the pole position and an all P1 Engines front row as Thompson and Smith would line up side by side. Still getting use to the Rotax package, Smith would claim a solid second place result in his first ever Rotax event.

Raquel Martinez would have a tough weekend in California but the P1 Engines powered driver would never give up. After qualifying ninth in Saturday's rain action, Martinez would have a problem on the warm-up lap and drop out of the race before the green flag flew. Being classified in 22nd, that is where the talented female would be forced to start the main event as she drove forward nineteen positions to score the final step on the podium.
