Dunlop Australian CIK Championship - All set for Toowoomba

8 May, 2003 - The promoters of the 2003 Dunlop Australian CIK Championship, the International Karting Council (IKC) are pleased to confirm that the next round scheduled to be held at Queensland’s Toowoomba circuit is full steam ahead.

With some the track maintenance that was requested by the IKC nearing completion all is set for sensational third round at the tricky Queensland circuit.

Series Co-ordinator Craig Denton confirmed the following this afternoon “I have now had confirmation that the track resurfacing has been delayed through a problem with the contractor but all is now on track for a completion date of May 19.”

“Most of the kerbs throughout the circuit have been replaced with the exception if three.

One of the major concerns from drivers of the circuit in the past has been the main straight that will be the final part of the resurfacing plan along with the right hand corner at the end of the straight.

“The Toowoomba Club are doing everything in their power to ensure the track will be ready at least 4 weeks prior to the event,” added Denton.

“The IKC and we hope all competitors are looking forward to the third round on June 21-22 in Toowoomba.”

Following the Queensland round the 2003 Dunlop Australian CIK Championship will head to Dubbo in NSW on August 23-24 and culminate in the 2003 finale’ at Victoria’s Geelong Raceway on October 18/19.
