DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (Feb. 13, 2002) * Scott Sharp and Danny Lasoski will have the best view when the 26th season of True Value IROC kicks off with Round 1 on Friday at Daytona International Speedway.
Sharp, whose only previous True Value IROC experience was in 1994, pulled the envelope that awarded him the pole while Lasoski, the 2001 World of Outlaw champion, drew the outside pole.
"It's an honor to do (IROC)," said Sharp, who will wheel a Gold Pontiac Firebird. "It's been fun getting the time in every session out. You think it's just another practice session, but it's amazing how much you learn. Every time we go out there we get more comfortable so it's going to be fun."
Rounding out the top five starting positions were Lasoski, Sterling Marlin, Helio Castroneves and Kevin Harvick. Round 1 of the True Value IROC will go green on Friday at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the season-opening Florida Dodge Dealers 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race.
