United Kingdom followers of Dan Wheldon's burgeoning single-seater career can see highlights of his last race of 2001 tonight when Channel 5 broadcasts the final round of this year's CART Dayton Indy Lights Championship.

Viewers will see the 23-year old Briton slot into second place from the start of the dramatic race on the California Speedway at Fontana on 4 November and hound Championship winner Townsend Bell to finish a mere .051 of a second behind at the chequered flag!

Wheldon's stunning performance in his Gemstar Communications PacWest Racing Lola-Buick gave him the runner-up position in the Indy Lights Championship and his third successive Rookie of the Year title.

In addition, Dan Wheldon won the Bosch Platinum+4 Speedway Challenge for earning the most points in this year's oval races.

Channel 5's programme is scheduled to start at 02.45am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning so, unless you're planning to be up at that time, set your video recorder. The VideoPlus+ number is 4900310. Enjoy.
