Hot on the heels of announcing their intentions of running the full 2010 Firestone Indy Lights schedule, HVM Racing and its driver Junior Strous prepare for the upcoming assault on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida for this weekend's season opening race, and thus begin the race for the Firestone Indy Lights Championship.

While the 2009 season may have been brief for Strous, the 23 year old Dutch racer showed grit and determination in the 5 races he competed. Because of the partial season Strous finished the season in 20th place with 146 points, but he rocketed to the top in his first two races. His debut in 2009 at St. Petersburg was pure success when he went on to win both of the double header races. Strous is looking to continue last year's success in 2010, this time partnering up with HVM Racing aboard the Shell/HVM Racing entry. Sponsorship will come from Shell and the European-based Car Channel Television Network.

Keith Wiggins, HVM Racing Team Principal - "We are looking forward to our first Indy Lights event. Although this has been last minute and we were still putting the pieces into place on the way to the event I am sure it will all be worthwhile for both Junior and HVM. Unfortunately, it will be the first time the car has run and Junior has been out of the car for many months, but he did win here last year and we are all motivated. We are looking for a solid weekend where we can gel and work together as we look towards the full season."

Junior Strous, HVM Racing Indy Lights Driver - "I'm looking forward to the St. Pete race. Last year I won both races and the track is my favorite street track. This year it's going to be hard as we had no pre-season testing. I have never been this physically fit before and I'm driving for the most professional team I have ever worked with."
