St. Pete: AFS/Andretti Autosport race report

CHARLIE KIMBALL, ...

CHARLIE KIMBALL, #26 TEAM LEVEMIR® FLEXPEN® CAR
* Finished in fourth place after qualifying seventh

"That race had everything! It was pretty crazy... started dry, then got wet so we stopped to put on the wet tires. It started to dry out then down poured right at the end. Through all of the conditions, the #26 Team Levemir® FlexPen® car was great. We were quick. I made a mistake early and that put me back. From there I had to focus on running clean, smart and fast laps. I think our overall pace was pretty competitive. At the end of the day, coming home P4 on a day like today, when we could have been into the wall, was definitely smart."

MARTIN PLOWMAN, #27 TEAM AFS RACING/ANDRETTI AUTOSPORT CAR
* Finished the race in sixth place

"I'm very glad to just finish that crazy race. I had so many lucky escapes. I was hanging on to the rear of the car once the tires lost their edge. The rain was so deep we needed flotation devices at the end! Normally 6th place is not a good finish, but in these circumstances, I'm very happy. I finished with four wheels still on the car, good points in the bag, when others dropped points. After the speed shown by my #27 Team AFS Racing/Andretti Autosport crew in testing over the winter and this weekend, I'm really looking forward to Barber!"
