Former Barber Dodge drivers Chris Menninga and Tony Renna were among the fastest in pre-race testing for the on the second round of the CART Dayton Indy Lights Series at The Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wisc. this weekend.

Menninga and Renna were both lapping in the low 25-second range only a tenth of a second or so off of the fastest time set over the two-day test. Both drivers pronounced the test successful, and are optimistic about their chances in the upcoming race.

Other Barber Dodge Pro Series veterans took part in the test including Townsend Bell, Andy and Geoff Boss, Jeff Simmons and Todd Snyder. The test for both Simmons and Bell had been productive through the early going with Simmons setting a competitive time. Unfortunately both drivers later made contact with the wall in separate incidents. Apparently they were caught out by gusting turbulent winds. Each emerged unhurt but had to cut the test short do to car damage.

Snyder for his part had been watching the progress of the two drivers he had shared so many great battles with in the Barber Dodge Pro Series and decided to call it a day when he saw their accidents. Nevertheless, the track time he got over the test proved beneficial and he is every bit ready for the challenge of the next race.
