Long Beach: AFS/Andretti Autosport race report

CHARLIE KIMBALL, ...

CHARLIE KIMBALL, #26 TEAM LEVEMIR® FLEXPEN® CAR

* Finished P2, his second podium finish in the 2010 Firestone Indy Lights season

"I'm really pleased with my second podium finish in a row. With Long Beach being like a home race for me, I was lucky to have friends and family here cheering for me. The #26 Levemir® FlexPen® car ran well all weekend. Saavedra hit me before the start so I was worried about my right rear pretty much all race, but I had to focus on getting past Hinch. Looking ahead, it will be good to have a break to train and get ready for the ovals."

MARTIN PLOWMAN, #27 TEAM AFS RACING/ANDRETTI AUTOSPORT CAR

* Finished in fifth place, putting him in fourth place in the point standings

"Overall, it's a finish where we got good points for the championship. I felt I had a really great car, worthy of the pole or a win. It shows how important qualifying really is. I had a great start today and got up to P4. Then I made a mistake on the back straight and moved down one spot. After that, it was just pushing to the finish. We put in some really strong laps. It proves that the #27 AFS Racing/Andretti Autosport car has the pace to win races. I think now we just have to find our time and just hope that one of these weekends everything comes together."
