Long Beach: AFS/Andretti Autosport Friday report

CHARLIE KIMBALL, ...

CHARLIE KIMBALL, #26 TEAM LEVEMIR® FLEXPEN® CAR

* Finished P4 after the first Firestone Indy Lights practice session

"For the first practice at the track, ending up P4 isn't too bad. A lot of guys put on new tires but we're saving some for tomorrow. We're making improvements to the #26 Levemir® FlexPen® car and making sure when it comes to qualifying tomorrow that the car will be quick enough for the front row. It's just a question of getting a lap without traffic and running clean."

MARTIN PLOWMAN, #27 TEAM AFS RACING/ANDRETTI AUTOSPORT CAR

* Finished P3 after running P1 for the majority of the practice session

"I'm really upbeat about this weekend. The #27 AFS Racing/Andretti Autosport car was almost perfect out of the box, after having to push hard on lap one. We were easily dominating the session on the old tires, and by the end we decided to put on a set of new tires. We didn't quite get the best out of them; we got caught in traffic for two of my three laps. There's a lot to come from this car still. If we don't get a pole tomorrow, I'll be very surprised."
