Watkins Glen, N.Y. (July 5, 2007) -- Announced today, Tom Wieringa driver of the #40 Indy Pro Entry has announced a driving partnership with Arie Luyendyk, Jr. to drive in the remaining road course races for 2007 with Guthrie Racing.
The close friendship of the two fellow Dutchmen began many years ago while testing, but most recently, Arie Luyendyk Jr. has been spotting for Tom Wieringa since this year's Indy 500. It was at the USGP where Tom decided to concentrate on his successful oval efforts and let Arie, Jr. concentrate on the road course efforts to prepare for a full 2008 race season.
Arie Luyendyk, Jr. just returning from Holland over the Fourth of July demonstrated driving for the global A1GP road course series in an A1GP car. Upon his return, he delivered sponsorship news with Saker Cars, LLC.
Saker Cars, LLC is prominent in Europe, Austalia, and New Zealand. Saker will now be promoted in the United States and Europe by Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his father, two time Indianapolis 500 Champion, Arie Luyendyk, Sr. The sports car is designed to deliver high performance, high quality, reliable and affordable racing to enthusiasts everywhere. The Saker SVS GTA meets all FIA and SCCA guidelines and will continue to have street versions of this extreme track car.

About Guthrie Racing: Guthrie Racing returns for its second season in the Indy Pro Series. Guthrie has been involved with racing for more than 30 years, including three seasons in the IndyCar Series. Guthrie made 15 starts in the IndyCar Series from 1996-98, winning at Phoenix in 1997. The 1997 Rookie of the Year was co-owner of Blueprint Racing at the time. Guthrie formed Guthrie Racing in 2005 to support his son, Sean. The team competed in the Star Mazda Pro Series, finishing 14th in the standings.
