Team KMA's Robbie Pecorari drove to his maiden Indy Pro Series victory with a persistent challenge to Alex Lloyd that finally paid off in the last five laps.

"I have to thank the whole Team KMA crew," he said. " We rolled off the trailer quick, and as the race went on we just held onto position. When the last yellow came we just rolled. That's racing."

Pecorari's win was set up by a crash on lap 65 of the 77 lap event by Brian Stewart's Brad Jaeger and Al Unser III. The pair sent flames and debris aloft to the predicament of Lloyd who was leading the race but following them on the track.

Lloyd severely damaged the right front wing of his white Lucas Oil Dallara, but remained ontrack hoping a prolonged yellow might bail him out with the win.

His luck ran out when a restart on lap 75 found him forced to the pit for a new nose and out of contention for anything other than an also-ran result for his efforts.

For Pecorari the triumph caps a mid-season resurgence that began in Iowa, and continued into his strong qualifying effort Friday. Pecorari cited the influence of a new team engineer for the success.

In second was Sam Schmidt's Logan Gomez, who passed Wade Cunningham on the lap 75 restart, followed by Andretti Green Racing's Jaime Camara.

Cunningham was fourth, with Jonathan Klein of Team Moore finishing fifth.

At 7PM track officials announced Jaeger, who was taken offsite for xrays, was cleared medically to return to the Speedway and rejoin the Brian Stewart team.

The crowd of around ten thousand endured a hot and humid afternoon at Nashville Speedway, where temperatures have remained above 90 on Saturday ahead of this evening's IndyCar Series Firestone 200.
