Micky Gilbert, driver for Mile High Motorsports, passed his rookie oval test at Homestead yesterday, driving a car prepared by Crawford Motorsports who tested a total of six drivers. Gilbert was first out and eventually turned a 29.67 which was fast time of the day by two hundreths.

Indy Pro Series Technical Chief Butch Meyer was on hand to observe and gave Gilbert high grades for his effort and declared him ready to race at the series opener which is an oval race at Homestead on March 24. Gilbert has previously raced in Indy Pro Series in the two road course races at Infineon in 2006, finishing in the top ten in both.
