JOLIET, Ill., Sept. 9 - RLR/Andersen Racing's Best Friends Animal Society No. 5 retired from Sunday's Indy Pro Series season finale at Chicagoland Speedway after four laps due to engine failure. Driver Andrew Prendeville ended up 21st in the final rundown after starting ninth.

Prendeville, of Morristown, N.J., finished 11th in the 2007 driver point standings, just seven points out of tenth. The Fairfield, N.J.-based team finished 13th in the entrant standings.

Logan Gomez won Sunday's race by only .0005 of a second over the 2007 champion, Alex Lloyd. Robbie Pecorari, an Andersen Racing Star Mazda graduate, placed third.

"I want to thank everyone on the RLR/Andersen Racing team for their hard work," Prendeville said afterwards. "We're all looking forward to next season."

"Our work towards the 2008 season has already begun," concurred team owner Dan Andersen. "We begin testing later this month."
