RICHARD ANTINUCCI SOLDIERS HOME IN 9TH PLACE AT IOWA SPEEDWAY IN FIRESTONE INDY LIGHTS' SEVENTH ROUND

Top 10 Finish At Jeld-Wen 100 Helps Italian-American Driver Stay In Close Contention In The Standings, Where He'S Now Runner-Up, Trailing Iowa Winner Dillon Battistini By 27 Points.

NEWTON, Ia. -- Richard Antinucci, who had started from the outside of Row 7 after qualifying 14th, capped a difficult weekend at the .875-mile Iowa oval with a Top 10 finish at the end of 1-lap shoot out which was set up by the fourth day caution -- triggered on Lap 106 by Jonny Reid's crash. The San Diego-based driver managed to squeeze by Franck Perera and Marc Williams on the outside of corner's 1 and 3, grabbing 9th place just before the chequered flag.

Panther Racing's Dillon Battistini, who came to Iowa trailing Antinucci by a lone point, won his third race of the season. He preceded pole sitter Arie Luyendyk Jr., who was baulked in traffic on Lap 102 by James Davison, would not let the Dutchman by, leaving the door open for Battistini to capitalize on his mishap.

RICHARD'S TAKE
"Another very difficult weekend for the team and myself. We just couldn't go any faster... but in circumstances like these you've got to finish the race with as many points as possible. There have been some mishaps here and there on our recent oval races, we're looking at everything in order bounce back. This is not the position I expect nor intend to be running in."
