Yacamán Finishes 11th in Firestone Freedom 100

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (May 28, 2010) -- In front of a large crowd and without a cloud in the sky, No. 10 Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing driver Gustavo "Tigrillo" Yacamán finished 11th in the Firestone Indy Lights Freedom 100 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Race fans filled the stands and the infield was crowded as the Firestone Indy Lights series took to the track after the final IZOD Indy Car Series practice before the Indianapolis 500. After Firestone Racing Executive Director Al Speyer gave the famous command, Yacamán started ninth in the 40-lap race.

An early race crash between the No. 17 and pole-sitting No. 11 brought out the caution flag. The incident happened in front of the young Colombian driver, but he was able to avoid the two cars and debris that littered the track.

He restarted in the eighth position and finished 11th when the checkered flag flew.

"I'm really disappointed," Yacamán said. "Our race did not go as we were hoping it would go. I honestly don't know what happened between practice and race day. I want to thank my crew for such an outstanding effort of getting my car on grid, and we will be ready for the next race."

Next up for Yacamán and Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing is Round 5 of Firestone Indy Lights at Iowa Speedway on June 19th. T
