Forsythe Championship Racing, Ltd. 1999 PPG-Dayton Indy Lights Championship

Molson Indy Toronto Exhibition Place Toronto, Ontario, Canada July 16-18, 1999

Circuit: 1.721-mile temporary street course Race: 43 laps/74.003 miles Broadcast: July 18 - ESPN2 9:30 pm - 10:30 pm EST

Saturday Qualifying:

Airton Dare, #1 Banestado Lola - Qualified 2nd:

"I had a good lap going near the end of the session, but I came on traffic and had to slow down. Fortunately, there was just enough time left for me to cool down the tires for a lap and get one more fast one in on the last lap before the checkered flag. I think we have a good car for the race tomorrow. The track seems faster than it was last year. The concrete areas and the transition from the asphalt to the concrete is not affecting the car as much this year."

Guy Smith, #6 Swift Caravans Lola - Qualified 10th:

"We tried to work on the balance of the car with new tires and we just missed the sweet spot. We lost most of qualifying yesterday when I went off and that put us behind. Hopefully we will be able to make up some ground on the track tomorrow."

Top-10 Qualifiers:

1. Geoff Boss 64.437 = 98.049 mph 2. Airton Dare 64.459 = 98.016 mph 3. Didier Andre 64.462 = 98.011 mph 4. Oriol Servia 64.559 = 97.864 mph 5. Felipe Giaffone 64.781 = 97.529 mph 6.
