EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada (July 25, 2010) -- Gustavo Yacamán and the No. 10 Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing team finished 9th in the Firestone Indy Lights Edmonton 100, a street-course race held at the Edmonton City Centre Airport.

Yacamán qualified the No. 10 machine in the sixth position on Saturday afternoon. The race was going great as he maintained his position in the opening laps. A slight brush of the wall at Turn 7 on Lap 6 would prove to be a hindrance later in the race.

He remained in sixth position and held off a hard-charging Sebastian Saavedra in the No. 29 for the first third of the race. The No. 4 machine of Carmen Jorda stopped on course on Lap 12, which brought out the races only full course caution and bunched the cars. After the restart on Lap 17, the No. 29 of Saavedra got past him one lap later.

With an intermediate misfire on the left side of the engine, Yacamán was still able to maintain his position for nearly 20 laps with Stefan Wilson in the No. 28 close behind. After a hiccup on Lap 38, Wilson passed in Turn 1 and Adrian Campos Jr. in the No. 22 was able to take advantage as well a few turns later. The young Colombian driver finished in ninth.

"The car was good for the first five laps until I brushed the wall in the exit of Turn 7, which threw the toe out of place," Yacaman said. "I had huge over steer on the high-speed corners. Right after the caution, something was wrong with the engine. The car wouldn't accelerate in the midrange of the RPM band. It was a long, agonizing race, but in the end we were able to finish. It wasn't the best spot, but we have all four corners on the car. Now it's time to move on and work hard for Mid-Ohio."

Next up for Yacamán and the No. 10 Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing is Round 9 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, August 6-8.
