PPG-Dayton Indy Lights Championship - FINAL QUALIFYING

Team KOOL Green's Jonny Kane will make his second consecutive start from the front row when he lines-up for tomorrow's Indy Lights race at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Kane started from the pole at Michigan Speedway two weeks ago, but just missed out on another today. He lapped Belle Isle's street circuit in 1:22.486 seconds (102.554 mph), jumping from seventh to the top of the time sheet in the final minutes. Oriol Servia, however, stole the pole on his final qualifying lap with a time of 1:22.353 seconds (102.554 mph). Servia set a new track record in winning his third pole of the season, but has yet to win a race.

JONNY KANE, #27 Team KOOL Green Toyota/Swift: (2nd with a lap-time of 1:22.486 seconds / 102.554 mph)

"Nearly two poles in a row for Team KOOL Green, oh well. Oriol (Servia) got us there at the end, but to be second on a track that I've never been to before is quite good. We worked hard for this today and we got the result.

"We made one pretty major adjustment for qualifying that helped us straight away. We planned on a second change during the session and it was the one that found us the most time. 3/4s of a second probably. The second change stiffened up the car and then we went to new tires. We got a lot more out of the car with the new tires. It put us on the pole for a couple of minutes, but like I said Servia just pipped us at the last second. I plan to get him back for that tomorrow, hopefully right at the green flag."
