England's Dan Wheldon still has the 2001 CART Dayton Indy Lights title in his sights. He is currently lying a strong third in the series with 83 points, but with four races and a potential 88 points up for grabs, the 23-year old is looking to further close the gap to the current Championship leader -- the older and more experienced Townsend Bell (124 points) -- this weekend when the ninth round of the series is held on the oval Gateway International circuit in St Louis. In recent testing for Sunday's race, Dan Wheldon stole the limelight by being a tenth of a second faster than Bell.

Wheldon -- Rookie of the Year in US F2000 and CART Toyota Atlantic in the last two seasons -- is aiming for a third successive rookie title this year and hopes, as a result, to move up into North America's top single-seater category next year: the CART FedEx Champ Car World Series.

Dan Wheldon: "I finished second in the last race and I am confident of good results in the remaining races this year. My immediate focus is to get on the top step of the podium!"
