Cyndie Allemann on the right track for St. Pete
Sebring, FL (April 1, 2008) -- American Spirit Racing driver, Cyndie Allemann finished the second day of testing at Sebring International Raceway for the Firestone Indy Lights Series in the #2 position on the speed chart. Finishing the morning session on top of the chart, Allemann who drives the #18 Dallara with associate sponsorship from Cabo Wabo developed a sore wrist and the Team chose to end the test day early to give her arm a little rest prior to this weekend's Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, double header. Series veteran, Jeff Simmons ended the session as the fastest driver of the day.
"Another great showing by Cyndie," commented Team Owner, Jon Lewis. "This young lady never ceases to impress me. Right off the bat today, she was quick. She really showed her road course talents and the Team did a great job giving her a strong car. We worked on several set up changes today in preparation for St. Pete, and I believe we've learned what we came here to accomplish."
Lewis continued, "Cyndie put a lot of miles on this morning, as we weren't sure if we would run into a similar rain condition as they did yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, Cyndie's wrist was getting pretty sore in the afternoon, so we all decided it would be best to stop the test early, so her arm can be well rested for this week's double-header."
The American Spirit Racing team will be participating at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with two 100 mile races on April 5 & 6.
