JOLIET, Ill. (August 29, 2009) - AFS Racing/Andretti Green Racing driver J.R. Hildebrand captured the 2009 Firestone Indy Lights Championship at Saturday's race the Chicagoland 100 at Chicagoland Speedway. Hildebrand started the race in the 13th position and finished the race in sixth.

AFS/AGR teammate Sebastian Saavedra started second and finished the race in the sixth position. Saavedra is just five-points behind second place in the championship points standings.

J.R. Hildebrand, #26 AFS Racing/Andretti Green Racing Dallara/Firestone:
"There are enough great drivers this year even with a smaller field it's tough week end and week out. We were racing three-wide almost every lap, I kept thinking, this is a disaster waiting to happen. It was a tough race. The car got better the closer you got to the front with cleaner air. But I'm just so happy for the whole AFS/Andretti Green Racing. We have had great cars every race weekend, and I'm so lucky to be part of such a great team. It's a dream come true that I won the championship."

Sebastian Saavedra, #27 AFS Racing/Andretti Green Racing Dallara/Firestone:
"It was a disappointing race for the #27 car. We really needed the points to keep us higher in the standings, but it just didn't happen. I'm looking forward to moving on to Homestead in a couple of weeks."
