Birmingham: AFS/Andretti Autosport race report

CHARLIE KIMBALL, ...

CHARLIE KIMBALL, #26 TEAM LEVEMIR® FLEXPEN® CAR

* Finished in second place, his best career finish as a Firestone Indy Lights driver

"It was a good race. The Andretti Autosport boys did a great job all weekend. The #26 Levemir FlexPen car was fast even in traffic and all I could do was try to run behind Vernay. I think we definitely had the race pace. When we had a gap, I closed it back down though it's a tough track for passing. It was all about qualifying yesterday and the first lap today."

MARTIN PLOWMAN, #27 TEAM AFS RACING/ANDRETTI AUTOSPORT CAR

* Recorded a career-best fourth place in today's Firestone Indy Lights race

"Overall it was a good race. I'm just very disappointed about what happened at the start. I think we had a podium car with the #27 AFS Racing/Andretti Autosport car. After that start, the race was very tough. It was very hard to pass. We had a very strong middle section of the race. I felt we put substantial pressure on Sebastian but then towards the end, I just found it was best to bring the car home and get some points. We'll make improvements and get them next week."
