ASR-NELAN Motorsports will begin an extensive pre-season testing program in February in preparation for the 2009 season.
After some good meetings Junior and his management signed a contract with ASR-NELAN Motorsports.
I am very happy to race in the Firestone Indy Lights Series in 2009, my aim is to race in the IRL series in the future.
Insiders advised me to compete 1 year in the Indy Lights Series basically to gain experience on the Oval Tracks.
I raced two years in the Atlantic series, the first year I broke my wrist in Long Beach, and suffered a lot during the 2007 season.
In 2008, I raced for same team with good results. I was leading the champion most of the season, had poles, a win and podiums.
As a reward I won the Gilles Villeneuve Award 2008. (for Star Quality)
I love to race in America, the Fans are close and to race on the Indy Brickyard is one of my dreams.
I am exited about this great opportunity to race for Jon Lewis, Rick Nelan and ASR-NELAN Motorsports this year.
I am sure we can win races and as I have already won in St. Pete and raced before on tracks like Long Beach, Toronto and Edmonton with good results.
These tracks are all new Venues for the ILS series in 2009.
My goal is to win the ILS Championship.
In most of the Race series I raced in Europe I won the championship.
My first experience on an Oval track was in Homestead some years ago, I won the race and the American winter Championship Formula Renault.
The ASR-NELAN Motorsports team will give me all the support I need, Jon Lewis, Rick Nelan and their crew are real professionals
And I am in very good company with these guys.
My Dutch Sponsors Shell, HTP, Raceworld TV and many others are also very excited .
