Positive tests for Belardi Auto Racing and Krohn
Houston, Texas - February 27th - Only a month remains until the 2011 Firestone Indy Lights season kicks off. Belardi Auto Racing and their Norwegian driver, Anders "The Viking" Krohn, has already commenced an extensive pre-season test programme. "It has been a great experience so far, and we have improved so much from when we first hit the track to where we are now." Commented Krohn, shortly upon completion of his second test outing.
The newly created team kicked off their season-preparations at Firebird International Raceway with two days of testing. Krohn and his teammate, Jorge Goncalvez, logged several hundred miles at the 1.25 Mile road course. Krohn was enthused about the team's very first outing as a Firestone Indy Lights outfit. "It was quite incredible to see how well this group of guys get along. The cars ran without a fault for two full days, and the rate of development was very good."
Barber Motorsports Park, a beautiful road course located just outside Birmingham, AL, was the site of the second test. Krohn had never before seen this track, but quickly found his way around and lap times started dropping as the car and driving improved. "Barber is one of the best road course I have ever been to. It's super fast, smooth and has elevations that just make you smile. I cannot wait to come back here and race in April!" Commented the 23-year old, who will commence his 4th season racing on U.S. soil.
The team's next test will be held at Sebring International Raceway on March 7th and 8th, and the season will kick off with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in Florida on March 27th.
