Franchitti, Castroneves aim to join four-time winners' club
Reigning IndyCar champion Ryan Hunter-Reay set a new record on the Brazilian street circuit in the Firestone Fast Six for the fourth Itaipava Sao Paulo Indy 300 presented by Nestle.
Dario Franchitti strapped on a set of used Firestone alternate tires for his final bid and actually lapped the street circuit three hundredths of a second faster than when the set was new in the prior qualifying segment.
Qualifying temperatures: Track temperatures ranged from 77°-95° F (25°-35° C) and the ambient temperatures ranged from 66°-69° F (19°-21° C).
