HVM Racing and the No. 33 PDVSA Honda-Dallara will start from the 19th position for Saturday night's SunTurst Indy Challenge at the Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

Driver E.J. Viso was the 17th car to take the track during qualifying on Friday evening. The team had already had a practice session on Thursday and another session Friday afternoon. Temperatures had reached near 100 degrees during both qualifying sessions. The team had taken the heat with stride, and by the end of the practice session on Friday was the fourth fastest car.

After the practice sessions, the team and Viso had high hopes for a top qualifying position. The first lap of qualifying Viso made a remarkable save to the car coming off the last turn. Many drivers might not have made that save, but Viso was able to quickly collect it and put together three solid laps.

"The balance wasn't what we wanted in the car," said Viso after his qualifying laps. "I almost lost it after that first lap, but was able to get it back. "It's going to be a tough race, but it's a long event too. We're going to battle hard to move to the front."

Tony Kanaan won the pole and Marco Andretti will share the front row of the 300-lap event. Saturday night's race will be televised live on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. (ET).
