Justin looking forward to Nashville's concrete oval

Justin and Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing have put the disappointment of Watkins Glen behind them and are concentrating on preparations for their first visit to the 1.33 mile Nashville Superspeedway for Saturday night's Firestone Indy 200. It will also be their first time on a concrete oval track and racing on the abrasive surface will add another unknown this weekend.

"It's going to be another interesting race for the McDonald's team," said Justin. "From what I hear it's a pretty tough event. Although we've never experienced the concrete surface on an oval, I've been to a few race tracks that have concrete sections on them like Sebring and Toronto. There were even concrete patches in Watkins Glen last weekend. We know from these other places that it's generally very bumpy and quite difficult to drive on, but I can imagine that once the rubber goes down it would start to get quite grippy. It will be interesting to see what kind of concrete it is and how it affects things. We'll just have to work it out as quickly as we can."

Justin will be among a number of rookies allowed to participate in a 1.5 hour practice session on Thursday afternoon. The offical practice and qualifying sessions take place on Friday ahead of the race itself on Saturday.
