Motegi, Japan (September 19, 2010) - After a promising outing at its previous IZOD IndyCar Series oval race, Conquest Racing was hoping for a repeat performance at Sunday's Indy Japan 300 at Twin Ring Motegi, but it wasn't meant to be as Bertrand Baguette retired early due to contact and Roger Yasukawa placed 20th.

Yasukawa was making a return behind the wheel of an Indy car after last competing in the series at Japan in 2009. The U.S.-born Japanese driver was aiming for a strong race in front of his family, friends and sponsors.

With limited time in the car during the two-day event, the driver of the #36 CWE Conquest Racing machine did the best he could to get back up to speed quickly after being out of a car for nearly a year.

Although Yasukawa had to adjust the balance of his Dallara in his first stint and with the team able to improve it during his first stop, the hometown favorite battled on to cross the finish line in 20th.

While Yasukawa was able to complete the race, it was the opposite for his teammate. Baguette, who scored his best result of the year at Kentucky Speedway two weeks ago, was looking to continue his season-long progression in Japan. With another solid performance in qualifying on Saturday, with a 13th spot on the grid, things were looking good for the rookie.

Unfortunately the Belgian's race would be short lived as he suffered his first contact on an oval track. The incident happened during the second lap of the 200-lap race when the backend of his Dallara got loose on him while he was trying to get by the 11th place car of Vitor Meira in Turn 2. Baguette was uninjured in the crash.

Conquest Racing will next be closing out its 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season on October 2, 2010 at Homestead-Miami Speedway with the season ending Cafe do Brazil Indy 300.

20th - Roger Yasukawa, #36 CWE Conquest Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"It was a tough race for me. I struggled with the balance in the first stint, but the team did a great job improving the car and it got better as the race went on. Considering it was a last minute deal, I think we should be proud of what we have accomplished, although I definitely would like to give another go at it knowing that we did not meet our expectations. Overall, I really enjoyed being back in the car, and I would like to thank all the guys at Conquest Racing for their great work, and my sponsors CWE, VIDA, Ichigo, and all of my fans for supporting me throughout the race!"

25th - Bertrand Baguette, #34 RACB Conquest Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"I don't know really what happened. I lost it in Turn 2 without any reason. It's unfortunate because we had a fast car and we could have had a good race again. I feel bad for the guys and for giving them extra work heading into Homestead in a couple of weeks. I know they will do a good job fixing the car and I can't wait to get back behind the wheel for the season finale as I look to end my first IndyCar season with a strong performance."
