Mike Conway to Ed Carpenter Racing

Conway will pilot the 20 Ed Carpenter Racing entry for the road and street races of 2014.

Mike Conway will drive for Ed Carpenter Racing in 2014 on the street and road courses.

Team owner and driver Carpenter will compete in the remaining 6 oval races on the schedule.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Mike Conway to the Ed Carpenter Racing family,” Carpenter told IndyCar.com.

“My partners, Tim Broyles and I are committed to building an organization based on culture, sustainability, and performance. We are very proud of the group of people we have assembled and bringing Mike into the fold creates an opportunity for us to show even more value to our partners and strengthen our team by competing for victories at every single event in the 2014 IndyCar Series.”

Mike Conway showed what he could do in a racecar on a street course taking a win in Detroit driving a Dale Coyne Entry this past year, as one of only a few starts on the season.

The 30-year-old Englishman is looking for success with Ed Carpenter Racing.

“It is great news to be back in IndyCar next year for all the road and street courses,” said Conway. “I had a lot of fun this year in the select races that I could do and I hope that I can continue my success with Ed Carpenter Racing next year."
