Scott Dixon and the No. 9 Target Honda Team

Back-to-back: Dixon has the opportunity to be the sixth driver to score back-to-back wins at Mid-Ohio in the 23-year reign that a major open wheel series has raced at the Buckeye track. Fellow TCGR teammate, Alex Zanardi scored dual wins in 1996 and 1997 as Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates teammate Juan Pablo Montoya won in 1999. Double race winners include Bobby Rahal, Michael Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Al Unser Jr. and Helio Castroneves.

Mid-Ohio Prospects: Dixon spent a few moments looking forward to this weekend's race at Mid-Ohio: "As always I look forward to going to road courses during the season and more so when it is a race that we won last year. Mid Ohio is a very challenging track and requires a lot of emphasis on qualifying well. I hope to improve on our qualifying from last year. We tested for a few hours just recently and I believe we found a few things. So all in all I can't wait to get back this weekend and try to defend our title."

2007 Mid-Ohio Win: At last season's race, Dixon scored his third-consecutive victory after winning at Watkins Glen and Nashville mid-point in the 2007 season. He joined Zanardi, Montoya and Jimmy Vasser in TCGR history as the only drivers to score three-consecutive wins in a season.

Happy Birthday: Dixon will celebrate his 28th birthday on Tuesday, July 22. Last year, Dixon celebrated his birthday in victory lane at Mid-Ohio.

Largest Lead: Dixon enters Sunday's race with his largest points margin in the championship race (63), breaking his previous highest lead (48) after Watkins Glen International and Iowa Speedway.

Dan Wheldon and the No. 10 Target Honda Team

Smooth Set-up: Wheldon's Mid-Ohio primary car is the same chassis he raced two weeks ago at Watkins Glen International. Despite the Brit's top-25 finish, Wheldon commented to crew members the car was "dialed in" and is a strong road course car for this weekend's event.

Puppy Progress: Dan and Susie Wheldon's new family members, Molly and Maverick, a Toy Poodle and Chihuahua hit the road for the first time last weekend in Nashville. The pups immediately went to sleep on the airplane as they shared the same crate. The key to managing the dogs on the Wheldon's motor coach was to keep them on a schedule. Housebreaking the dogs is still the top priority, yet both parents are optimistic their hard work will pay off.

2007 v 2008: Wheldon has entered the championship points standings in third place at the last two IndyCar races at Mid-Ohio. Last year he trailed Dario Franchitti for the championship lead by 97 marks and is 69 points behind TCGR teammate Dixon this year.
