The race marks Round 15 of the 2014 IndyCar championship

Lexington, Ohio – Following three consecutive Verizon IndyCar Series race weekends – including a doubleheader event in Toronto two weeks ago – Justin Wilson is back from a brief break in race action for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend. The race marks Round 15 of the 2014 IndyCar championship and will go green on Sunday at 3:50 PM ET (LIVE broadcast NBC Sports at 3:00 PM ET).

Wilson, who pilots the No. 19 Boy Scouts of America Honda for Dale Coyne Racing, spent his reprieve from racing back at his home in Colorado as well as in Indianapolis spending time with his family before traveling to Ohio for the Honda Indy 200 event.

The Briton arrives at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn natural terrain road course of Mid-Ohio refreshed and ready with his sights set on a podium finish. A string of results just outside of the top-10 in the last few rounds of competition, combined with his eighth place finish at Mid-Ohio last year have him eager for a taste of the elusive podium champagne.

The tight Mid-Ohio circuit makes passing difficult, but Wilson proved his capabilities behind the wheel of his Boy Scouts of America racing machine in last season’s race as he put on a show gaining two positions in the final laps of a race that ran green from start to finish. For the race this weekend, he looks to use his experience at the track to his advantage and earn his first podium of the season.

“It’s always great to be back at Mid-Ohio,” said Wilson. “I love the track and we always seem to go fast there. I love the layout and elevation changes. It’s a rewarding track when things go right so hopefully everything goes well for us this weekend! Qualifying is key at Mid-Ohio so the goal is to start toward the front, have a straight-forward race, and capture a good result. We’ve been knocking at the door for a podium finish so we’ll see what we can do this weekend."

The IndyCar Series is back to a one-race format this weekend with two practice sessions on Friday followed by a third practice and qualifying on Saturday. A 30-minute warm up will take place Sunday morning ahead of the Honda Indy 200 race which will go green at 3:50 PM ET.
