Justin aiming high at Long Beach
Justin and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing are determined to put the disappointments of the first two rounds of the IZOD IndyCar Series behind them and are aiming high at this weekend’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in California. This will be Justin’s eighth race at the famous 1.968 mile street course. A year ago he started 3rd and was runner-up, repeating his 2nd place finish in the Champ Car World Series race in 2006. Justin started on pole here in Champ Car’s final outing in 2008 and was contending for victory in that event before an engine failure. So he knows what it takes to be right at the sharp end here and can’t wait to get out on the track in the No. 22 Z-Line Designs car.
“I'm really looking forward to Long Beach,” said Justin. “We were strong here last year and I think we will be again this year. Everyone is fired up over the last two races we've had and we're ready to get the season started here. Our aim is to get pole position and to go for the podium. We are going to give it all we've got and we're ready for the weekend."
Despite breaking his wrist at the season opener in St. Pete, Justin is confident that, three weeks on, it won’t be a hindrance. "My wrist is feeling fine,” he added. “It’s throbbing a little bit, but it’s not too bad. I'm hoping once I get a rhythm through the hairpin that I’ll be fine."
Justin’s regular team-mate Ana Beatriz, also recovering from a broken wrist, is back in DRR’s No. 24 Ipiranga car this weekend.
