Justin looks forward to long night at Texas
Justin and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing are looking forward to Saturday night’s Firestone Twin 275s at the Texas Motor Speedway, the 6th and 7th races on the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule. After an Indy 500 that didn’t live up to their expectations, Justin and the team had a successful test at the Milwaukee Mile last week and they’re eager to get the No. 22 Z-Line Designs car back on track at Fort Worth’s steeply banked 1.5 mile oval this weekend.
IndyCar doubleheaders were commonplace under USAC and CART sanction between 1967 and 1981 and their re-introduction this year at Texas is all part of the effort to add even more excitement for the fans. With two action-packed races, each lasting 114 laps, and a grid order for the second race determined by a blind draw during the interval, having a well balanced race car will be crucial given the need to work through traffic and be in contention at the finish.
"Texas is a fun track," said Justin. "It's a good racetrack because with the high-banking you can take any groove. It always produces entertaining races and I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping that we can be a little bit stronger than last year. We had a great qualifying car, but we struggled in the race and we've got plenty of ideas and I can't wait to get started and get stuck in. The twin races will make it interesting. I think you'll see some close racing and it will be interesting to see how hard people push in the first one to make sure that they save their car for the second race."
