Justin pleased with 10th in Milwaukee 225
Justin and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing scored a hard-fought 10th place in Sunday’s Milwaukee 225 at the Milwaukee Mile, Wisconsin. Starting from 13th, the No. 22 Dad’s Root Beer car was just outside the top 10 for most of the race and Justin pressed forward in the closing laps to bring home his best oval finish of the season to date. Dario Franchitti took victory for Chip Ganassi Racing, with team-mate Graham Rahal runner-up and Will Power (Team Penske) in third. Ana Beatriz was 17th and 3 laps down in DRR’s No. 24 Ipiranga entry after she was forced to pit for suspension repairs following contact with the wall on Lap 65.
Justin moved up to 10th in the early stages, before dropping back to 12th by Lap 100 and 11th by Lap 200. Progress was hampered by six yellow caution periods, but after the last restart on Lap 205 he made several passes for position en route to 10th place.
"The Dad's Root Beer car was pretty good,” said Justin. “We were able to get out there and pass people. I was really happy with the changes that we made all through the race. I was hoping that we could finish a little bit higher with the car that good, but that's just how it goes. You get boxed in on those re-starts and you have a good car, but there is nothing you can do when you have nowhere to go. It's just part of it when you have someone ahead of you who checks up and you get held up too. Other than that, I think it's been a pretty good day.”
Justin and DRR won’t have long to wait before getting back on track – the next event on the IZOD IndyCar Series calendar is the Iowa Corn Indy 250 in Newton, Iowa next Saturday June 25th.
