Justin encouraged by Barber test 16-March-2011
Justin logged 114 laps over the two days, making numerous set-up changes as he and the DRR team worked through an extensive list of things they wanted to try in preparation for the upcoming season. The No. 22 car was 9th fastest over both days, logging its best time on Monday afternoon’s session when Justin was 3rd on the timesheets (1:12.6791). Although they were unable to match that on Tuesday (1:13.322), Justin was encouraged by the amount of data they were able to gather over the two days.
"It was an up and down couple of days,” he reflected. “We had times when we were quick and times where we struggled a little bit. We need to go back and analyse all of those changes. We got lots of information and we need to make sure that we pick out the good ones. It's just part of testing - you can't always be quick at the right time. We were pretty good on old tyres, so that's encouraging, and we found some things there. We just need to continue to work hard."
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will head back to their Indianapolis-based headquarters to put the final touches on the car for the IZOD IndyCar Series opener in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 27th.
