Detroit, Mich. – Justin Wilson put the No. 19 Boy Scouts of America Honda eighth on the IZOD IndyCar Series grid for Dual 2 of the “Duals in Detroit” during a 10-minute qualifying session through the 2.35-mile Belle Isle street circuit on Saturday morning.

Unfortunate timing with a session-halting red flag hampered Justin's qualifying run, preventing the Englishman from setting a flying lap on a new set of Firestone red tires in the second half of the session.

Despite not getting the chance to hit the track with the best set of tires at the right time, Justin will make his third top-10 start of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series season tomorrow in Dual 2 at Belle Isle.

“We were pleased with the session, but we got that red flag when we had just gone out on a new set of tires to see what we could do with the Boy Scouts of America Honda and just got cut short early,” said Justin.

“It just seems to be one of the weekends where nothing seems to go our way and we always seem to be doing the wrong thing at the wrong time. But we’ll just keep trying to do the right things and eventually it will come right.

We’re starting eighth so it’s not bad. We’ve got a lot we can do from there. It’s great to see my teammate Mike (Conway) get the pole. He got to run that new set of tires and go for it and he set a great time.”

Justin will start Dual 1 from the eighth row this afternoon with the race set to begin at 3:50 PM (ET). ABC will carry live coverage of the event. With the current forecast predicting rain for the 70-lap race, there could be some alternate strategies put into play in what is sure to be a thrilling run through the streets of Belle Isle.
