Camping World Watkins Glen Grand Prix
Watkins Glen International - Watkins Glen, NY
July 6-8, 2007 - Round 10 of 17

Race Distance: 204 miles/328 km (60 laps on the 3.37-mile/5.42-km road course).

Television Broadcast: Live - Sunday, July 8, at 3:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.

Firestone Firehawk Race Tires Supplied: 794 dry-condition slicks; each car receives eight sets (32 tires) for the race weekend. Firestone Fast Six qualifiers receive one additional set of slicks for that session.

320 wet-condition grooved tires; each car receives four sets (16 total tires) of rain tires

Both the Firehawk slicks and rain tires are identical in specification to the tires used at Watkins Glen in 2006. The dry-condition slicks are the more durable road-course compound and construction, while the wet-condition tires with a tread pattern are a "softer" or higher-grip specification, previously used at St. Petersburg this season.

Quote from Al Speyer, Executive Director, Firestone Racing: "We're over halfway through the 2007 IndyCar Series season, and we've made it to the first of two natural terrain road courses this year. As a tire supplier, Firestone Racing loves the diversity of tracks that the IndyCar Series offers, so it will be nice to stretch our legs on this three-plus mile track. Last year's race was marked by cool temperatures and intermittent rain, so drivers' choice between slick and wet-condition tires played a big role in the outcome of the race. With weather expected to be pleasant this weekend, the Firehawks' role will likely be a bit different. But regardless of the circumstances, Firestone Racing will be prepared to provide drivers with the right tires for the challenge ahead."

Firestone Performance Award: This $10,000 prize commemorates Firestone's status as the only tire manufacturer to have participated in every IndyCar Series race, and is normally given to the driver leading the lap number corresponding to the cumulative number of races in series history. But since the Camping World Watkins Glen Grand Prix is the 144th IndyCar Series race and the race distance is only 60 laps, the Firestone Performance Award will go to the driver who leads the lap when the 144th race mile is completed, which is lap number 43.
