Franchitti to Start Seventh at Watkins Glen In Klein Tools/Canadian Club Car

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (June 3, 2006) - Klein Tools/Canadian Club pilot Dario Franchitti will start on the inside of row four for Sunday's Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix. Because of poor weather conditions at the track, the starting order was set based on combined practice times from Friday's practice sessions.

Dario Franchitti, #27 Klein Tools/Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"We tried some things yesterday that didn't work, trying to get a direction, but we always knew we could come back to the setup Tony (Kanaan) had and be more competitive. So, I'm disappointed qualifying was cancelled. I thought we had a shot to get a whole lot further up the grid. I think tomorrow is going to take some hard work but I still believe the Klein Tools/Canadian Club team can win the race. Weather conditions might play a part in the race which I'm fine with."

Kanaan to Start Second at Watkins Glen

Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan will start from the outside of the front row in the #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone for Sunday's running of the IndyCar Series Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix after rain cancelled qualification attempts and the field was set based on practice times recorded during Friday's practice sessions.

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"We didn't really learn anything today. I scrubbed some race tires to take the shine off, but I don't think we learned anything that we can use for tomorrow. We'll keep an eye on the weather but I think the Team 7-Eleven car is very good this weekend and I love to drive in the rain. It would have been nice to have qualified, but Helio (Castroneves) is only starting next to me; he's not in front of me."

Andretti to Start Third in NYSE Car at Watkins Glen

Marco Andretti and the #26 NYSE car will start from the third position for Sunday's running of the IndyCar Series Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix after rain cancelled qualification attempts and the field was set based on practice times recorded during Friday's practice sessions.

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I'm definitely happy that things worked out like they did. I really believe that the NYSE car could have been in the top-six shootout had we qualified, but we might have ended up qualifying sixth instead of where we are at. Sometimes it pays to not be too greedy. This definitely worked out in our favor."

Herta to Start Ninth at Watkins Glen In XM Satellite Radio Car

XM Satellite Radio driver Bryan Herta will start ninth for Sunday's running of the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix. Because of poor weather conditions at the track, the starting order was set based on combined practice times from Friday's practice sessions.

The 60-lap, 204-mile race is the fifth event on the 2006 schedule and will air live on ABC Sports starting at 3:30 p.m. (EDT). The entire IndyCar Series schedule is also carried live on XM Satellite Radio channel 145, the exclusive home of the IndyCar Series.

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I'm disappointed that qualifying was cancelled because the XM Satellite Radio team wasn't going for a time yesterday. We didn't even put on new tires in the afternoon. Obviously if we would have known this was going to happen we would have tried harder yesterday. I would have rather qualified than practiced today but that's a call for the IndyCar Series so we'll try and make the most of it tomorrow."
