DALLAS (October 15, 2004)---The 2004 IRL IndyCar Series is now in the record books and Scott Sharp, driver of the No. 8 Delphi entry, posted his best finish of the season---eighth. The 200-lap finale at Texas Motor Speedway was its usual fast, side-by-side event with Sharp working his way to the top position during the pit stop cycle and running the majority of the day in the top-seven. Helio Castroneves was today's winner with Tony Kanaan finishing second and Dan Wheldon finishing third. The 16-event season is now complete and the Kelley Racing team will return to Indianapolis.

Scott Sharp, No. 8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone--- Quote

"Today was a great finish for the Delphi team, considering the kind of year we had. This was the most competitive car we've had all season and raced our way into the top five. We just didn't quite have what we needed on the restarts and I was just watching everyone going by me on the outside. It was a nice way to finish the season, with our best finish and now we'll see what is in the cards for next year."
