CHEEVER'S FAST STOP FOR CHARITY: Eddie Cheever and his Rachel's Gourmet Chips team will pair off against Brian Tyler and his Team Pelfrey pit crew Wednesday, Sept. 16 in the Fort Worth Stockyards during the Pep Boys Indy Racing League Pit Stop Challenge for Charity. The Pep Boys pit stop competition will take place from noon to 1:00 p.m. in front of the visitor's center on Exchange Street. The Indy Car crews will compete head-to-head in a best-of-five match of pit stops. The victorious crew will be able to designate the $1,000 winner's prize to the charity of their choice.
Cheever's team has designated the Kids' Stuff Foundation as their recipient should they win. The non-profit Kids' Stuff Foundation was organized in 1990 by tennis star Andrea Jaeger which brings children with life-threatening diseases to Aspen, CO for a week of adventure in the Rocky Mountains.
Cheever's crew is seeking a second straight pit stop victory. His group defeated Scott Goodyear's Indy Car team during a similar contest two weeks ago in Atlanta, GA.
Cheever, Tyler and other Pep Boys IRL drivers are scheduled for a lunch-hour autograph session following the competition.
