CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Racing Team confident that patience will pay off.
George-Louis De Buffon said, "Genius is nothing but a great aptitude for patience." In that case, the CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Racing team is brilliant. By all accounts, they have all it takes -- a talented driver, excellent mechanics and proven leaders. Yet somehow, someway, something always seems to go wrong. As the Boomtown 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway approaches, Billy Boat is confident that his team's luck is about to turn around.
Boat knew from the beginning that this season would be full of challenges. He started a new team in a new city, with a dynamic group of mechanics, but many of them have never worked on Indy cars before. Without a doubt, the team has had to deal with growing pains, but they now seem poised and ready to break out.
"The Texas Motor Speedway is a track I've always done well at," says Billy Boat. "It's the place we're looking to, to try and turn our season around with the CURB Records team. We have a great group of guys that are working really hard, but so far we just haven't been able to put all the pieces together to get the kind of finishes we're looking for."
Besides the timing -- the team is poised and ready for success -- Boat has past experience on his side. He won his first IRL victory at the Texas Motor Speedway in 1998 and has a string of successful finishes at the track.
He looks forward to the next few days, "Hopefully this race will serve as a good chance to get us a Top Five finish, move us up in the point standings and give us some momentum to carry us through the next 10 races."
The Boomtown 500 will air live from the Texas Motor Speedway this Saturday, June 8 at 8:00pm EDT on ESPN.
